Angel Wing Tattoos on Shoulder Blades: overdone or cute idea?

What’s your opinion?

(Not on tattoos themselves– but on the idea of angel wings on your back.)
Pooh is not on my arm, its around my ankle. That was my treat to myself for suriving cancer– I always wanted them, so I got them.

I just like tossing tattoo ideas around. I’m not sure if I actually want them, I’m just asking.

Don’t do it. That’s one of those things that’s really cute at the time, but then it gets old. Get a temporary tat of that if you want to, but you don’t want that permantly.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for tattoos in general, but make them well thought out and meaningful. You want something that stands the test of time.

I think that too many people have them, but then again, I’m the one with a lower back tattoo. Do what makes you happy, if you like them, then get them. My sister was actually talking about getting those.

OMIGOD, why do you care if angel wings are tacky? I just looked at your 360 page and you have the entire cast of winnie the pooh tattooed on your arm.

in my opinion, it’s very, very tacky. But if you really like it then get it. ^_^

I mean it’s nice and all but what happens if you don’t like it anymore, you can’t really hide it when wearing summer cloths, and say when your older the wings will droop and will look odd. You have to live with it forever if you like it then that’s great and should get it, it’s important that you like it, don’t just think oh it’s cute cos your young but it kinda aint cute when your 40-5.

Over done, and not even close to original anymore. Sorry, but when you can walk down the beach any given day and see 5 – 10 people with the same tattoo (male and female) only slightly different you know it’s been ran into the ground.

Well, my personal opinion is if we want to talk about overdone tattoos, we should talk about tribal tattoos. Tribals that are just basically abstract shapes. Those types are a dime a dozen. As for Angel wings, I have never seen it. I think a lot of people have tribal wings or skeletal parts on their shoulder blades, but not to many angel wings. My wife has a cross with angel wings on her lower back, and I have never seen anything like it. So some styles are definately over played.

btw I have three tribal tattoos. A dragon, a cross, and the comedy/tragedy masks. My tribals are actual things, not just some sharp edged abstract item.

It just depends on how you do them. I think that they are a little overdone but I have seen some that are totally different but they still stick to the idea of angel wings.

I like winnie the pooh personally….

anyway… if they are small, maybe…. just remember that they will be there forever, and cost a lot (if they are big) and they will probably need touch-ups, not to mention…. EVERY time you wear a tank top i guarantee at least on person is going to comment about them!

I like tattoos… i think they are a great way to express yourself, which is why i don’t get it when some people pick a tattoo out of a tattoo book or choose something that they know thousands of others have (ie butterflies or wings)

I personnally have considered getting wings myself. I think they can be very cute if done properly. Besides… who cares what other people think. Go for it! It is your body after all.

So freakin overdone. I hate it when there are fad tattoos and everyone gets them just because it’s a fad. Not saying that’s why you want them just saying I’m tired of seeing them, and butterflys, and chinese or kanji if you aren’t asian.

I haven’t seen many angel wings and I am wanting one in memory of my parents with the quote “pictures fade but memory is forever” in the middle. Maybe I should rethink this because I want something beautiful unique and to be a memory of my parents because ironically I have hardly any pictures of them.

    Hi Kimberlin -

I think your idea is lovely. I wouldn’t let outside influences sway your decision – just go with your heart :)
